Sermon Notes: Making Disciples for Christ

Daniel Botha

Daniel Botha a speaker at the Central Texas Church of God delivered a deeply inspiring message on Making Disciples for Christ at Christian Educational Ministries(please see the following link http://www.borntowin.net/audio/making-disciples-for-jesus/).

The message is filled with stories of his interaction with those in need in Africa and his using every opportunity he has been given to help his fellow man in practical ways and also to share his understanding of the bible with his fellow man.
Mr. Botha pointed out that in Matthew 28:18 Jesus has been given all power and promises to be with Christians until the end of the age.
What can Christians do as individuals?
Point # 1 You cannot help others unless you can bear witness of your own journey from being a sinner to a new person.  If you have come to the conclusion that Jesus truly did save you then you can help others. I think this is a very powerful point!
Point # 2 We all have to do and teach. We have to combine helping others with also spreading the truths that we have. Mr. Botha related numerous examples of having biblical material that he would hand out to  people when the opportunity arose and there was interest.
Point # 3 We have to truly care about the salvation of others.  The apostle Paul had a burning desire to proclaim biblical truth to others to delver human beings from their suffering and save them from this world.  Paul expressed this desire in Romans 10:1 and 1 Corinthians 9:16.
Point # 4 We have to meet people where they are and build on common understanding and interests. Paul's example at Mars hill should inform how Christians communicate to others.
